Hey Folks!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here for an update—I hope you’ve come through the coronavirus pandemic safe and well.

In actual writing news, here’s what I’ve been up to:

First, and most excitingly, I was selected as a participant for Pacific Screenwriting Program’s 2021 Scripted Series Lab. Five lucky writers and I got to work with Will Pascoe on a new series, as well as developing our own projects with professional mentors. I can’t recommend the program enough, or the other great writers in this year’s cohort.

Post the PSP, I finally got to finish my pandemic delayed Writer’s Apprenticeship with Corus in the room for Family Law. I couldn’t have asked for a more generous and illuminating room to learn in. Family Law Season 1 is coming soon, and you should 100% watch it.

In playwrighting news, 2020 was busy—despite productions of How to Survive an Apocalypse being cancelled abroad, I got to reunite with the original cast for an online reading, courtesy of the NAC’s #CanadaPerforms Program. In addition to a host of worldwide readings and performances, “The Donation” was published in the CCTA’s 2019 Collection “Lighting the Way”, available here. I had the chance to talk eco-theatre with all kinds of exciting folks at CATR’s eco-theatre panel in the summer—And even appeared, in verbatim form, in Scott Sharplin’s very cool online piece: Paths Less Travelled.

And that’s all the news that’s fit to print. Stay safe, get vaccinated, and I hope I see you on the other side!
