Hey Folks!

The big news, of course, is that we finally have an air date for Family Law Season 2! Abigail and the fine folks at Svensson & Svensson will be back putting the “fun” in dysfunctional as of May 22 at 8 PM — and continuing Mondays at 8 PM. Check out our hilarious Season 2 Trailer here. I can’t tell you how proud I am to have been a part of this show. It’s funny and heartfelt — Susin, our showrunner, just won the WGC Showrunner of the Year award for her absolute excellence as both a writer and a human being — which was both richly deserved and long overdue. In other television news, Missing Pieces (which I and the rest of the PSP 2021 crew broke and wrote for the wonderful Will Pascoe) has been optioned by Skydance, and I’m taking a couple shiny new projects to Banff!

In theatre (or, I suppose, theatre-ish) news, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m one of The Only Animal’s commissioned artists with the Artist Brigade, developing a science fiction podcast—the first episode of which will be coming soon! I’m thrilled to be working with The Only Animal — they are inspirational leaders in climate art who recently won not one, but two major prizes: The David Suzuki Foundation’s Rewilding Prize, and the PACT Green Award (of which they are the Inaugural recipient). There have been more performances of The Donation, Rube Goldberg, and Kayak than I’ve been able to entirely keep track of — I can’t tell you how lovely it is to get pictures and email from places near and far where folks are staging them as part of a conversation about climate change. And, finally, earlier this year I had a lovely time running writing workshops for Andrea Scott’s Elder project — which is the kind of inclusive and community-driven theatre that the climate movement needs.

That’s all for now! I hope you’re healthy and happy and enjoying a lovely start to your summer, wherever you are.
